Charles Weaver is Director of Music at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Norwalk, where he conducts and sings plainchant and Renaissance polyphony. He is also the schola director at Regina Pacis Academy, where he teaches plainchant to children. Prior to coming to St. Mary’s, he served as the schola director at the Church of the Holy Innocents in New York.

As a lute player, basso continuo accompanist, and opera conductor, Charles has also served as music director for opera productions by New York’s Dell’Arte Opera and as assistant conductor for a production by Juilliard Opera. As a vocal coach, he has assisted in preparing Baroque Operas at the Cleveland Institute of Music and Yale University. He has also played lute with the New York Philharmonic, the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, and the Boston Early Music Festival.

Charles is on the faculty of the Juilliard School, where he teaches historical plucked instruments and Baroque music theory. He is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in music theory at the City University of New York.
