The 75th Anniversary of the founding of the Greater Bridgeport Chapter of the American Guild of Organists (GBAGO). Dinner, a recital of a newly commission work for the occasion by Daniel Ficarri, Associate Director of Music & Organist, the Cathedral of Saint John the Divine in New York City, and salute to several long-term chapter members. 22nd Annual Pipescreams Musical Extravaganza – First Church Congregational
A concert of Halloween-themed and Broadway musical pieces featuring the mighty pipe organ, amazing choral ensembles, incredible musicians, a 1920’s silent film, costume contest with prizes, reception.
Annual Epiphany Party – Home of Frank & Heather Martignetti
What would it be without an annual Greater Bridgeport AGO social event? Bring some music to play. Both organ and piano available. Lots to eat, and a chance to toast the new year with fellow members.
Pedal, Pipes, Pizza & Orgel Kids – Stratford United Methodist Church
This event is for children ages 8 and above who are currently taking music lessons and would like to learn about the organ. This is a fun event where everyone gets to learn about and play the TWO organs (bring your piano music!) Participants will get an opportunity to build a small pipe organ that we then can play!
Chapter Studio Class – Chapel of the Holy Spirit – Sacred Heart University
Chapter Studio Class is an opportunity to play for your peers, to get and give constructive feedback. It's a risk free environment for trying new ideas, repertoire, and compositions.
Austin Pipe Organ Factory Tour – Field Trip!
A wonderful opportunity to see how a pipe organ goes from design specifications (physical/tonal/budget/timeline) to factory build, testing and preparation for installation. We will carpool to the Austin's Hartford location - 156 Woodland St, Hartford, CT 06105 (1 hour drive from the Bridgeport area).
Annual Member Dinner and Scholarship Winner Recital – Ryan Giraldi
We are thrilled to have 2023 M. Louise Miller – Paul E. Knox Scholarship Competition Winner, Ryan Giraldi, join us to perform a short recital program at St. Theresa RC Church, Trumbull, followed by our annual social time and catered dinner at Ecco Wine Bar, Trumbull.
