Dedicated in 2009

In the fall of 2009, Sacred Heart University dedicated its new 500-seat chapel. Designed by Sasaki & Associates, the building is graced by stunning mosaics by the renowned artist F. Marko Rupnik. Dr. John, the various choirs of the university have participated in a series of wonderful dedication religious and seasonal concert events. The Greater Bridgeport AGO Chapter is pleased to be hosting this POE and an upcoming Choral Festival, both in June 2010, as part of the ongoing celebration of this new facility. Casavant Freres – III/23 ranks

A Unique Facade

Casavant was proud to be part of this unique setting. The new mechanical action organ built by Casavant in a French style has three manuals, including two under expression, and at completion will have 29 stops and 35 ranks of pipes. The case was designed through collaboration between Sasaki Associates and Didier Grassin of Casavant, featuring sets of facade pipes “floating” in front of a wooden scrim. It contrasts the linear verticality of polished tin with fluid layers of wood.
